MAIN DINING ROOM
Our main dining room includes a fireplace
and seats approximately 60 people at 28 tables with general seating of 4 people per table.
(We also have larger dining tables
available for bigger groups of people.)
Our main dining room has a rustic, woodsy atmosphere that makes you feel as if you were inside a log cabin. Surround yourself with the warm re-finished wood, antiques and the original support beams from historic 1878 mill structure.
(also known as The Sun Room)
A customer favourite, the glassed-in patio seats approximately 60 people at 7 tables & 7 booths,
with a general seating of 4 per table or booth.
Large, open windows allow guests to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Big Otter creek outside. The windows also allow
in a great deal of natural light, making it a wonderful
place to appreciate a nice day even while indoors.
It's this bright, beautiful that has earned
this dining space the "Sun Room" nickname.
The patio is very popular and most of
our guests come in with hopes to sit by the
windows so they can enjoy the scenary.
We wish we had the space to allow everyone the chance to sit where they wish, but there is limited seating on the patio and during busy hours we fill up every seat. During these hour it is difficult for us to hold tables and so we cannot promise everyone the chance to
sit on the patio beside the window, but make the upmost efforts to seat everyone fairly and
in a way that serves their desires and needs!
We recommend that you come in before the mealtime rushes
(breakfast/brunch, lunch & dinner) to increase your
chances of getting first pick of the patio!

"Beautiful building, courteous staff, and a lovely view. Food was delicious and staff was attentive, even though we were in off peak time for a late lunch."

"Amazing Fish and Chips. Our server told us that the third week of every month, they have the fish and chips we had On Sale for $8.99 from Monday to Thursday. I actually wrote that in my calendar. I plan to go there at least once a month for that meal. The fish was so lightly battered you can see the outline of the fish through it.....not just a big clump of batter on the plate! I don't eat very much and usually have to take a doggy-bag with me when eating out.....no doggy bag yesterday. I finished the WHOLE thing!"

"I appreciate the wood interior and exterior of the building, including many different types of wood. The fish and chips is very good, and the brunch buffet offers a lot of selection. I would recommend mainly to anyone that likes fish, but they do also have a lot of other food on the menu that I'm sure would also be very good "

"We were at Mills Tale this evening for a special dinner with my husband's cousin. The full parking lot was my first indication of this quaint restaurants popularity. We were kindly ushered to our table in the "sunroom" after having a few moments to enjoy a bit of local colour and history...from the warm fresh bread and butter, to some sage advice on what to order, and the pleasant waitress, I have nothing but compliments. We all were happy. Broasted chicken and the fish and chips were a highlight-Perch was scrumptious!! |Clean as a whistle, orderly and pleasant, and utterly delightful. We'll go again when next we visit!"

"My husband and I went here for the first time with friends. They told us how good the broasted chicken was and they were right. We both had it and it was so tasty. We were given a very good portion size. I had the mashed potato and it came with two scoops. The coleslaw was not a creamy style which is my preference so next time I will ask for the vegetable instead. The clientele was mostly over 60 and that says good food to me. We were not disappointed. They have a gluten free pizza but I didn't see any other mention of gfree options at this time. We were seated in the glass window area which overlooks a little stream and all the ducks were swimming in the water. The price for this restaurant for the two of us was under 30.00. That is a great price for the amount of food that you get. We will go back again."

"We recently moved to Ingersoll and were looking for a good family restaurant with great home cooked food. The Mill Tales Inn did not disappoint. It came highly recommended by our neighbours. The prices are reasonable, ingredients are fresh and all meals are cooked to perfection! There is a fish special on the 3rd week each month, very good and the price is cheaper than cooking at home! Braised short ribs, roast beef, broasted chicken, local perch, ribs and home made soups are our favourites! Caesar cocktails are also worth the drive. Service is attentive and friendly. It's a popular place and sometimes there are line ups but it tends to move fast so give yourself some extra time....the wait is definately worth it!"
